The Technology Watch and Transfer Department from the CIS Galicia (Innovation and Services Centre of Galicia) carries out two different but complementary activities with the aim of supporting Galician organizations in their RTD activies.
Technology Watch
The Technology Watch activities are focused on providing strategic information about markets, products, competitors, legislation, technology trends, etc. to Galician organizations with the aim of improving their competitiveness and innovation.
In 2003 the Department launched an innovative Internet-based platform called “VIXÍA” by means of which the companies have access in real time to all source of information. Thanks to VIXÍA the companies can automate their technology watch proccesses and gather all the important information in a single platform.
Technology Transfer
In 2000 the Department became a member of the Innovation Relay Centres Network that constituted an initiative of the European Commission for the stimulation of transnational technology transfer and the promotion of innovation. In 2008 this network was merged with the Euro Info Centres forming together the Enterprise Europe Network, the largest European platform providing information and advice to EU companies. The role that the Department plays within this new Network is to foster technology transfer agreements between Galician companies and their counterparts located throughout the 45 countries that make part of the Network.
The Department participates in this network as a member of the Consortium Galactea-Plus that covers the North-West of Spain, including the regions of: Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla y Léon and Galicia.
